Hi,
Do I have to create the home directory /u/xxxxxxx myself to use OMVS? I am getting an error message when TSO OMVS is entered.
Thanks

In conventional UNIX, this problem is usually caused by a damaged file system and would be fixed with the fsck utility.
Presumably z/OS has got an equivalent to this - I think there's one called IOEFSUTIL that can salvage a damaged zFS file system. It has to be run as a batch job from TSO. Has anyone tried it? You probably have to be an admin to do so, or at least to have superuser equivalent rights in OMVS.

If you have got some ready-to-run JCL for it, I'm willing to give it a try, although my RACF status will probably not allow it...
